ABOUT US

The Queen City Brass Band (QCBB), was established in 1992 and recently celebrated our 29th year. The band is a community-based organization that promotes music in a traditional British brass band style and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The brass band movement grew up from the industrial revolution in Great Britain and consists entirely of brass instruments with a percussion section. Sections within a band include cornets, horns, baritones, trombones, euphonium’s, tubas and percussion – all skillfully lead by musical director or conductor. The format lends itself to a wide range of music from Musicals to Marches, Mozart to Mortimer, Carols to The Classics.

Queen City Brass Band (QCBB) performs for various community and private events. Repertoires consist of marches, hymns, original works for brass band, classical transcriptions, jazz, show tunes, movie scores and more. The band is entirely made up of amateur players from the region and practices are held at the Salvation Army Temple Corps. in Charlotte, NC every Monday evening from 7:00 pm- 9:00 pm
